Week #5

This week, a lot has been going on at my parents house. They now have the whole house framed inside (upstairs and downstairs) and they also have the roof framed and covered (sorry, but I'm not familiar with the technical terms). They also have the heating and air conditioning done in the house. I didn't take any pictures of the furnace or vents because I didn't think that would be very interesting to see, but it is done. On Tuesday, my dad is coming down to meet with

the electrician and then the electrician will start his work on Wednesday. I'm also assuming that the plumber will be doing more work as well. Hope you enjoy the pictures.

Week #4

Another week has gone by and my parents house is moving right along. They now have the basement framed (sorry, no pictures of that, I didn't want to walk down the flimsy/temporary stairs that they had put up) and all 4 walls up with some of the inside of the house frames. I finally got a picture of the walkout basement and the back of the house. Off the back of the house (where you can see the outline of the door), they will have a small deck and a big cement pad for them to set up their patio furniture. Hopefully sometime this week the framing should be done. After that's done, my parents will have to make a quick trip down to Utah to meet with the electrician to let him know where they want their outlets, lights, cable boxes, etc. My parents also want to add a few extra lights, so it will be at this time that they will also tell the electrician that. Week #3

My parents came down this last weekend and were finally able to see what has all been done with their house. When they were last here a month ago, there was just an empty lot. A lot has changed since they were here. After the gravel was spread throughout the house & foundation, they back filled it with dirt and at the end of last week, they poured the foundation in the basement. This is the week that they should start framing the house. I guess once the framing is all done, it only takes about 2 months for the rest of the house to be done. So, they could be in their house by the end of July. We'll just have to wait and see. I was also able to get my parents in a picture with their house. Yay!!! I will update this blog again when there is more done on their house.

Week #2

I was gone for most of last week to California, so I am a little behind in my update on my parents house. This is what got done. They poured the cement for the walls and took down the boards, put tar around the outside of the house and they did the plumbing in the basement. They also have some big piles of gravel dumped on their property which means they will be putting the gravel down soon before they pour the cement floor and fill in the dirt around their house. My parents are coming down this weekend so I am excited for them to see what has all happened since they were
here a month ago.
What a big change a month makes.
