Week # 17 & 18

So I am a little behind on things. It has been a crazy, hectic last couple of weeks so I will try to remember everything that has happened. My parents closed on their house on August 14, 2009. Their house is pretty much completed. The only thing left to be done is the landscaping and that didn't have to be done in time for closing. It just has to be done 30 days from when they closed on their house. Lucky for them, they are starting the landscaping on Thursday and will have it done by Tuesday. My parents have been spending a lot of time down here in Utah getting things ready, delivered and hooked up. They are looking forward to the day that they will be living down here full time, which will be Sept. 7th. We are excited for them and the house is absolutely georgous. Here are some pictures, but once they get the landscaping done, I will post some more. Til next time.

Week #16

I can ALMOST say the my parents house is 100 % officially done. They are so close we can hardly wait. This last week was doozy. They completed so many different things. They have finished the rest of the counter top in the kitchen, the handles are all on the cabinets, all of the appliances (with the exception of the fridge) are in place, all the sinks in the bathrooms and kitchen are in place, towel racks, door knobs and doors (all of the little intricate details). All of the lights are up and working, the sink is in the garage, and the garage doors are both on. The have also poured most of the cement (with the exception of the extended patio in back) the front railing is up, and the back deck is built. There are so many things they have done this week, it would take me forever to name it all. The only major things that are left on the house is to clean the inside of the house and get the refrigerator in. On the outside of the house, all they have to do is pour the back patio and then do the landscaping and that is it. We are getting more and more excited for when the time comes for mom and dad to move down to Utah with us. Yay!!! Enjoy the pictures. Til next week.

Week #15

Well, the time is coming closer that my parents will be living in Utah full time. Everyday there is something new being done on their house and it is finally all coming together. This last week they installed the cupboards in the kitchen and all 4 bathrooms. They also have the counter tops on in the bathrooms and in half of the kitchen. Much to our surprise, they also have the carpet installed throughout the whole house. I say we were surprised because they told my parents that the carpet wouldn't be installed until August 6th. It looks very nice (as you will see in the pictures). Hopefully my parents should be able to close on their house within a couple of weeks and they are looking at moving in over Labor Day weekend, if all goes well. Enjoy the pictures. Til next week.

Week #14

Since I was in New Mexico for the last week, I don't have any pictures to go with this post. I did go check out their house yesterday (Saturday) to see if anything had been done and all they did this whole week was deliver the cabinets to their house. Hopefully by next weekend they should have the cabinets put up and maybe a few other things done so that I can share some pictures with all of you. Til next time.

Week #13 - Continued

Here are some more pictures of the tile work. Enjoy!!

Week #13

I am just about to walk out the door to leave for New Mexico for the week, but I wanted to update my parents blog really quick so that I didn't have double the posts when I got back. This last week on my parents house they have gotten all of the stucco done and all of the tile that will be in the house. It looks really good and the whole house is coming along nicely. I'm sure there will be a lot more done on the house by the time we get home in a week. I can't wait to see it. I hope you enjoy the pictues. Til next week.

View of the Mountains!!

I think I posted a picture like this before, but it was cloudy or raining so the mountains couldn't be seen very well. But, here is the view that they will have from their Living Room, Dining Room and Master bedroom. Gotta love the Utah mountains!!!
